FromAngie:

just wanted to give you all the latest on ocOHburns happenings. tickets are
now on sale through local contacts. look for charlie (gate man from scorched
nuts) mac (fire man), will (fire man), ol'bill (athens), kristal light (kentucky)
or myself to buy in person, or you can soon visit our website to make a will
call order!!! its still in the works but will has been amazing enough to work on
it for us! advance tickets are $15, gate sales $20. will calls are $15 but paid
at the gate. we will have an octOHburn meet and greet when we get back from burning man, so more details will be coming soon. we are planning on having jack o lantern carving avaiable for everyone, and then use the jack o lanterns to light our paths! suffice to say that its looking like there will be some massive fires going on, a lot of drumming and tribal dancing, fire spinning and hopefully some more sculpture and 2d art. id love to set up a 2d art gallery in the barn for all you painters and photographers out there. what are your thoughts?

HI! I am coordinating a brand new local festival that will hopefully
become an annual event. It is called octOHburn and will be held
October 5-7 at Hannon's Camp America near Oxford Ohio. It will be a
weekend of collaborative art projects, large scale fires, tribal
dancing and performance, and radical self-expression. This is a Leave
No Trace event and there is absolutely no commerce associated within
the festival. We all bring what we have to share, whether it be a
piece of artwork, a musical performance, an elaborate costume, or a
snack or beverage to share. The result is an eclectic and unique
weekend experience where you are sure to see something new and meet
incredible, open-minded people. Visit our modest website for more
information, or contact myself to learn more.

If you're a friend, this is simply my blog reposted...to share with more of everyone. It's true no matter how often I post it. :D

Well, I would like to start off by giving a shout out of thanks, in no particular order:

Thanks to the weather for staying SO beautiful, even if it WAS too warm for my fuzzy costumes.
Thanks to Angie, Chris, and the whole octOHburn event organizers, planners, and staff.
Thanks to Graham for being another mass smile and giggler.
Thanks to Pokes, Will, David, Eric, and all the fire crew for SUCH a great fire (extra thanks to Pokes and Will for the effigy).
Thanks to the effigy crew and everyone who put some time into helping to make it BEA-U-TI-FULL!
Thanks to the Pink Flamingo Wine Bar! YAY! for more Indiana burners who rock my socks off! Their home brew is superb!
Thanks to Rebecca and Sierra for hooping with me, feeding me (yeah, I self-responsibility and all that.....I couldn't let her have an abundance of food left over...I was just doing my part *big grin*), for the great pictures, and all the connecting.
Thanks to Tim Black for the hypnotron.....everyone seemed to be impressed....lovely.
Thanks to the Hannon's. They simply RAWK!
Thanks to Kristal Light and Sweet T for yet another GREAT Pornyata Camp. You lovely ladies need some time off....and more lovin's than I can express. You two are ALWAYS a delight!
Thanks to Captain, My Captain for the connection, for the snuggles, and for the love.
Thanks to the Clean up crew for the great job of starting so early on the clean up and disposal of the Jack-o-lanterns.
Thanks to the fire performers for a beautiful light up.
Thanks to Yasha for the warm heart, ever present smile, and open, generous nature. You are such a beautiful, effervescent soul.
Thanks to everyone who came out, helped make this a beautiful, magical, event.

Okay, so there it is. My thanks. I got EVERYTHING that I wanted out of this weekend. I got to work (my body will make sure I remember HOW much work/moving I did). I got to connect with people (connecting in a variety of ways....I have a BFF that I wouldn't have had otherwise...I got to geek out over hoops, I met some new Indiana burners, I got plenty of mad make-outs, hugs hugs hugs and MORE hugs....I'm a hug-slut, I got snuggle/cuddle time w/o the overt sexual tension, which I VERY much needed, I got to share my art with people through henna, I got to share love galore, and I laughed, smiled, giggled almost non-stop the whole weekend.) I was busy just about the whole time. Maybe about 4 hours worth of rest...tops.....maybe...and that's rest...not sleep....heeheehee. So much energy. It's not the type of energy that you get from a summer event, it was more intimate, more down tempo, more connecting......less party, less non-stop loud, bump, and yahoo. This event was EVERYTHING that I needed, wanted, and could have hoped for. THANK YOU! This was just what I needed on this journey of mine. I love life, and this was just another little boost to hold in my heart and mind in the winter to help stave off those winter blues.

There's so much I want to share, yet, words do nothing to convey exactly what it is....smiles, giggles, and heart-felt love is the closest that I can get.
